Out here I usually buy a gunneysack (or two...or three) of fresh chili, and have it roasted. But once you get it home it still needs to be peeled, de-seeded and chopped.
If the chili has any heat you only get partway through the bag before your hands are on fire.
and you usually regret all the tasting the next day.
Now that you mention it, I remember cutting fresh chiles once. And, while I was crying from the pain emanating from my fingertips, my friends telling me that I should have worn gloves or held the chile with a towel.
... a huge ice cream sundae with caramel AND hot fudge. with whipped cream and toasted pecans and a cherry on top. YUM! Alas, I am dairy free for my munchkin. In due tiime...

green chili. fresh roasted green chili, especially is it has started to turn slightly red. little bit of garlic on that.

I've never had fresh roasted chiles in my chili. Sounds good.

..one of those berry tarts that they have in the bakery cooler at Costco. Have you seen that thing? Oh, it looks AMAZING.
I have not yet seen the berry tarts at Costco, but if there's a marionberry one, I'm game.
