Hmm. Yeah, the last movie I went to was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. And I was so tired that I missed the last 20 min.
There have been a few that look really interesting. Because I can't bear to know that there is a famous insiders only joke out there that I've never heard, I really want to see the Aristocrats. Unfortunately, most theatres have a firm no one under 18 admittance policy, even if they are babies, so I guess I'll have to catch it on DVD.
I've really turned into a TV girl lately. I'm in love with House, Lost, CSI:NY, Arrested Development, Family Guy, Daily Show... There's more, but I'll stop. ;)
What is this "theater" that you speak of? Is that the expensive, 12 movie Netflix-like place up on route 3? Or that other place where all the ladies are named after cars and jewels?
If it's #1, I don't know. The home Netlix has prevented me from going to one of those places in years.
If #2, Of course I've never been, but I would say Ruby or Mercedes.
I agree, Rudicus. To me, watching the new version is like someone asking me to view a 1.5-hour remake of a portion of my childhood. DO NOT MESS WITH MY MEMORIES - I'M UNSTABLE AS IT IS.
ok. i liked the new charlie and the chocolate factory. i just made sure not to compare it in any way, shape or form to the original. the orginal strays so far from the book anyhow. ;) i took it for what it was: an adaptation of a book... not as a remake of one of my favorite movies from my childhood.
HOWEVER, if someone even so much as THOUGHT about trying to remake the wizard of oz, i'd have to cut someone(s).

So I take it you all don't think any movie produced this year is worthy of the title 'gem'???
...charlie and the chocolate factory.
Sorry QOB busy day.

...since almost every movie I saw this year was with my now ex-wife...I didn't enjoy any of them.

For me, Sin City barely edges out Batman Begins, mostly because Sin City doesn't have Katie Holmes.
